The toddler stage is a milestone in early childhood development, as they are developing speech, learning to use language in a positive way, and employing all five of their senses as they explore the world around them. Teachers of toddler-age children plan activities and use appropriate materials as they encourage children to explore and learn.
We emerge toddlers in the learning process all year through exposure to art, music, literacy, pre-math, nature, science and sensory and motor development activities. Toddlers embark on problem solving activities, in which they will examine, explore, and experiment in an effort to reach the final product.
We encourage toddlers to express themselves, and activities are developed based on physical and verbal cues teachers receive from the children. In effect, toddlers are able to explore and investigate their surroundings in a critical way.
We aid toddlers in the development of the five senses (touch, sight, smell, sound, and taste), which will lead to increased awareness of their surroundings. In addition, toddlers will learn to be gentle, yet independent.
